In 1996, Daewoo " became the world's major transnational business among growing economies (Kim 2008. P. 277). ” At the end of 1999, the Daewoo Group " flattened in impressive fashion (Kim 2008. G. 273). ” Daewoo had entered the American car market back in the 90s simply by leveraging their global accomplishment along with Korean rivals Kia and Hyundai. In May 2002, subsequent General Engines decision not to acquire the assets of Daewoo in the United States, Daewoo Motor America filed to get bankruptcy security (O'Dell, 2002).
